One of my favorites from this weekend's mini sessions: Valerie, Brent and Josie!

Monique + Tony

December 13th, 2011

Monique and Tony’s Napa Valley wedding at The Carneros Inn was simple, intimate, and gorgeous. The couple decided to take the marriage plunge after their long 15 year relationship by eloping with a Napa Valley wedding ceremony, no guests, no reception, just the two of them.

When Monique contacted us at Tinywater about her Napa Valley wedding, she told us that one of the most important moments she wanted us to capture was the first look between her and her groom. This meant including all of the beautiful, raw, honest emotions that went along with seeing the love of your life for the first time on the day you marry them.

After the first glance commenced and the tears finished falling, the wedding party of two headed towards The Carneros Inn’s apple orchard for their ceremony. Among 27 acres of farmland and seemingly endless rows of grape vines, The Carneros Inn apple orchard is perched on the edge of the property overlooking the miles and miles of vineyards. It was the perfect spot for this Napa Valley wedding, especially because the couple’s biggest inspiration for their wedding day was their kids! Monique explains, “Our daughter Gracie always tells us she loves us, ‘Like over the hills over the hills.’”

After Monique and Tony’s intimate ceremony, we followed them around the property, exploring and taking advantage of all of the beauty Napa Valley has to offer.

It was not hard to feel the love beaming between these two. Being together for 15 years, we were ecstatic to be able to have the privilege of capturing this couple’s deep love for each other in such a gorgeous setting.

I love the rustic flower bouquet and boutonnieres the bride and groom sported, especially paired with the unexpected pop of Monique’s candy apple red shoes! In our next and final installment from Monique and Tony’s Napa Valley wedding, the bride changes out her heels for whimsical country cowboy boots to head into the vineyards for more wedding portrait fun.

We can’t wait to share a few more photos from this unique Napa Valley wedding at The Carneros Inn!

Monique + Tony’s Napa Wedding

December 12th, 2011

Monique and Tony asked Tinywater to be their Napa wedding photographer for their very intimate wedding at the Carneros Inn. This lovely couple had been together for 15 years before deciding on tying the knot the week after their 15th anniversary in a very simple Napa Valley ceremony with no guests except the officiant, Tinywater, and themselves. We loved being included on their elopement which focused on what was most important: their love for each other.

We felt lucky to be chosen as their Napa wedding photographer and to have the chance to hang out at the gorgeous Carneros Inn in the heart of Napa Valley, California. The Carneros Inn resort is located along the Sonoma Highway with a spectacular view overlooking the surrounding vineyards.

The bride’s jewels as she gets ready for her wedding day.

Monique’s bright red shoes were a fun pop of color to the white dress and softness of the Napa Valley countryside.

Monique and Tony decided to have the ceremony performed in the Carneros Inn apple orchard, which is perched up on a hill overlooking the valley of vineyards. Monique told us that her true vision of her elopement would be an intimate ceremony at sunset in a beautiful field of wild flowers or sunrise on a hilltop overlooking the valley, so the setting she chose was a completely perfect pairing of her two dreams.

The layers of Monique’s dress were absolutely gorgeous, fluttering with every movement. Our favorite part of this elopement is that even though there was no audience or guests in attendance, these guys still dressed to the nines for each other.

As the couple got dressed and ready for the first look, you could feel their anxiousness in the air. We can’t wait to show the series of photos that captured their raw and beautiful emotions when they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.

Monique was all giggles and as her Napa wedding photographer we captured some priceless candid moments of her beautiful smile. The lighting was perfect for capturing these wedding day portraits as the afternoon melted into evening.

Up next we will share more from Monique and Tony’s Napa Valley wedding at the Carneros Inn, including their very special and intimate ceremony and some fun as we explored the land, bar, and vineyards together.

Dallas Wedding Photographer - Very unqiue and creative style!!!

To end this Tinywater three part San Francisco engagement photography session with Cynthia and Jimmy, we trekked into the city to play around with the urban landscape and colorful graffiti. The couple had one more wardrobe change from their beach attire from our mini trash the dress session into bright mod colors.

Cynthia’s red pea coat was a great fashion statement and really contrasted with Jimmy’s more classic black and white outfit. It was a fun graphic addition and prop to play around with against the grungy graffiti in the background during this San Francisco engagement photography session.

Jimmy brought his own style touches to the San Francisco engagement photography shoot with his casual low top Converse sneakers. These two made this session feel like an editorial shoot for a fashion magazine!

How fun is this wall with Jerry Garcia and Janis Joplin looking down at these guys! We love being able to have San Francisco engagement photography shoots because of the quirky locations this city has to offer.

Are these guys gorgeous or what? The creatures painted on this wall were so funny to photograph with the couple. When Cynthia and Jimmy have free time they love going scuba diving, traveling, and finding the best new places to eat!

Cynthia recently relocated to San Francisco just a year ago and is still getting to know the bay area. The future bride describes her personal style as “trendy, mod, and tomboy at times.” We really felt like this San Francisco engagement photography session was perfect in capturing her personality! We hope these two want to share their photos with their friends and family to show off their beautiful relationship and fun new city.

We had so much fun during Cynthia and Jimmy’s San Francisco engagement photography session, moving from the Presidio to the beach to the city, especially playing around with their Pomeranian pup, Frosty, on the beach! We can’t wait to see what these two have planned for their wedding, we imagine it will be super fashionable. A big thanks to both Cynthia and Jimmy for allowing Tinywater to capture your engagement photos!

Cynthia had a wonderful idea to have part of their Tinywater San Francisco engagement session incorporate some trash the dress photos on the beach! If you don’t know, “trash the dress” has been a fun trend in the last few years where brides wear their special dresses in locations that you would never expect, all because of the fear for ruining it! Cynthia wore a floor length white dress, which looked as if it could be a wedding dress but was used just for this particular portion of their session! We think her idea is a genius way to allow brides that want to keep their wedding dress in pristine condition to participate in this fun photo shoot.

If you know us here at Tinywater, then you know how much we love meeting couple’s dogs! Cynthia and Jimmy brought along Frosty, their tiny and adorable Pomeranian pup.

We captured a few intimate moments during their San Francisco engagement session before we headed into the sun, sand, and water for our trash the dress photos. I love how just looking at this set of photos from their session look like they are from an intimate and casual beach wedding. Cynthia’s white dress and flower in her hair were so simple yet elegant.

As we headed into the sun and down to the shore, our timing couldn’t have been better – the lighting was absolutely perfect for our trash the dress photos.

Frosty really knew how to work the camera! That haircut and smile of his are so fierce! He had a blast running around these two as they danced on the beach.

I love the way her dress flowed and fluttered in the wind.

And into the water they go! Trash the dress photos don’t necessarily mean you have to go all out and completely ruin the dress. We just loved that Cynthia wasn’t scared to jump in the water for some beautiful moments with her fiance.

We were so excited to capture these trash the dress photos with Cynthia and Jimmy but it was time to move on from the beach and back into the city for some fun urban San Francisco photos!

Hilary - These colors are perfect! And obviously that dog is TOO CUTE! But, extremely gorgeous styling in these. Love it!Hilary {Bayside Bride} // // http://baysidebride.com
erin {a lowcountry wedding} - this is just beautiful
Dallas Wedding Photographer - These photos are absolutely stunning!!! What a gorgeous bride!!!

Cynthia + Jimmy: San Francisco Engagement Session

December 5th, 2011

I am so excited to share these San Francisco engagement photos with you guys from Cynthia and Jimmy’s recent session with Tinywater. For the first part of the engagement session we played around the Presidio in San Francisco, with Cynthia in a flowy pistachio green bohemian dress and Jimmy in a classic button down and jeans. The lighting during this shoot was absolutely to die for, creating a soft romantic glow around these two lovebirds!

How perfect are these two together? Cynthia has experience being a model, and we can see why! Both of these guys have beautiful smiles and were really comfortable in front of the camera, making all involved feel at ease and allowing us to capture some incredible portraits of the future bride and groom!

Cynthia is oh so stylish! With the perfect wardrobe choices, her hair looking effortlessly styled, and pops of unique touches like these hair feathers peeking out! We hope these San Francisco engagement photos inspire future couples in love to check out the awesome ideas and photos of Cynthia and Jimmy.

We love that these two weren’t afraid of laying in the grass to take some prime San Francisco engagement photos. Where else can you go from countryside to ocean to urban sprawl all in one day except San Francisco? We absolutely  adore this city for the amazing backgrounds, textures, colors, and props it gives us naturally.

The sunlight filtering through the trees onto the tall grass gives us a feeling of being in the countryside! If we hadn’t taken these San Francisco engagement photos, I would have thought this was a beautifully styled fashion photo session!

I love the composition of this photograph! With the yellowed grass, the windblown brown tree trunks, and the green foliage in the background, it really is one of my favorites from the Presidio portion of their engagement session.

Stay tuned because in our next few posts we’ll show you the other installments from Cynthia and Jimmy’s San Francisco engagement photos, complete with a mini trash the dress session and a stroll through the colorful and urban cityscape of San Francisco.

Jenn - Would you mind telling me which park of Presidio this is? Its beautful. I want to take my engagmeent photos there too.
