Oh Em Gee!!! One of our all time fav couple ever have been featured on Offbeat Bride! Val and Lon had an awesome rockin’ Geek Love wedding last year at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco! As Lon (the awesomest groom ever!) puts it: “She’s punk rock; I’m mope rock; we’re both geeks.” Punk rock, mope rock wedding, we had so much fun and would love to live it again and again! Congrats guys!! And thank you Ariel!
The final installment of Val and Lon’s epic wedding! To make the it an even cooler wedding, Val and Lon had Mongoloid, a Devo cover band, play at their wedding. The whole room was pumping, Mongoloid had a great performance! Val and Lon even joined in in the mosh pit. And to end it all, they rode away in the night in their tandem bike. P.S: Don’t you love Val’s pink tulle?!!
More of the Val and Lon awesomeness! Ok, so we all know how amazing this wedding is and how much work Lon put into it just for Val. But wait there’s more! As another surprise to Val, Lon wrote up a special song as his vows and had the groomsmen singing it! It made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes, what an amazing job Lon.

Val. I can’t tell you what the future holds for us, only that the path will be filled with laughter and spontaneity.
After all that, the mariachis kicked off the start of the reception and the party was on its way! Val and Lon took it up a notch with their Pulp Fiction inspired first dance that had the whole building screaming and roaring! We were jumping all over the place, up and down the stage and having fun with this one! The party was amazing, the reception was kicking, I even got my neck sucked by a guest… don’t ask… Need I mention that the place was basically lit like a rock concert and not an easy feat to shoot? The colors were amazing! We sure got creative with our lighting and the venue put our skills to the test! Wanna see more? Stay tuned for Part 4, the final installment!
Part 2 of the Val and Lon greatness!! And ok so I said there will be a part 2 and 3. But now it looks like there will be a part 4! I just can’t get enough of this wild Geek Love wedding. It was one damn wild and fantastic night! And what makes it even more amazing is that Lon put together all of the ceremony and reception details for Val as a surprise present. Isn’t that amazing? The very reason why Lon is our #1 groom of the year!! Val did not see the room at the Great American Music Hall until she stepped into the hall for the ceremony. So feast your eyes on all the little details, because I kid you not when I said that Lon did everything himself: the Gocco napkins, the amazing ticket style seat cards, the seating chart, the table numbers, the centerpieces, the programs, EVERYTHING! Welcome to Valarie and Lon’s awesome and fantastic Rock n Roll wedding at the San Francisco Great American Music Hall!! Easily one of our top favorite weddings of the year, Val and Lon, you guys were awesome beyond belief. Everything was perfect, every little detail. We dream of shooting weddings like this every day! Val’s mom got these knives because she needed knives for cheese and crackers the night before and these knives were on sale. Of course, we just had to do something with the knives right. Uhm, don’t attempt at home. And don’t run with knives…
