San Francisco Newborn Photography: Lauryn

February 6th, 2012

Tinywater traveled west from Sacramento to visit Winny and Lee as their San Francisco newborn photographer for their newest addition, baby girl Lauryn!

You might remember this cute couple from a few Tinywater sessions: we captured their engagement photos AND wedding a while ago. Their engagement session was a mix of San Francisco parks and beaches, complete with a bright red heart balloon. Check it out on our blog here!

Next, Winny and Lee celebrated their wedding at the Los Altos History Museum, which you can read all about here! It is so fun to be an engagement, wedding, AND a San Francisco newborn photographer, because we have the amazing opportunity of watching these couples grow into beautiful families.

I love these silhouettes we captured of the family and the way the kiss frames little baby Lauryn.

How adorable is this tiny gal? Lauryn was so precious and tiny during her photo shoot. We can’t wait for our next session with these guys to compare how quickly she’s grown up!

No family portrait sessions with Tinywater as the San Francisco newborn photographer is complete without including the family pup. Tinywater LOVES our dogs, and knows how much your pet is truly part of the family. This is why we love being able to include them in our family portraits! We first met Paddington at Winny and Lee’s San Francisco engagement session! We can already tell that this little guy will be a great watchdog for his new baby -sister. Plus, he’s a Tinywater dog at heart – he really knows how to work the camera!

We had to refrain from constantly squealing with joy as we captured these amazing mother-daughter and father-daughter images of Winny, Lee, and Lauryn together. Being a San Francisco newborn photographer is so fun, especially when we are able to document such love!

Baby Lauryn was absolutely adorable in her baby pink beanie. She really knows how to get comfortable in front of the camera. We were so lucky Winny and Lee invited us to be their San Francisco newborn photographer, we were so excited to see them again! We’re already excited about what other blessings this family has coming their way. ♥

After Dionne and Damien said their vows at San Francisco’s City Hall, we made our way towards the Presidio to capture vintage wedding photos of their bohemian chic celebratory picnic. Dionne said it best when it came to describing what was coming up next: “Damien is a musician who loves the outdoors and I’ve been doing interior design for over 10 years. We are both fun loving and silly, so we would love for our shoot to represent who we are…. a little boho, a little rock, a little sweet, a little silly with lots of love! Anthropologie-ish with a hit of 70′s rock.”

With San Francisco City Hall in the background, Dionne and Damien look like they just walked out of a beautiful 1970′s movie in these vintage wedding photos!

The brick walls made for a beautiful texture behind these couple and individual portraits of Dionne and Damien. Their style married perfectly with our Tinywater vintage wedding photos. The geometric shawl was a pleasantly surprising pop of color against Dionne’s lace gown. “My style is a little bit of everything – boho, vintage, modern, fun. I just throw it all together and wear whatever I am feeling like that day. Damien is a layered kinda guy, mixing vintage one day and a blues band t-shirt and sneakers the next.”

These guys brought along a few of their favorite vintage records to set the mood at their bohemian Anthropologie-inspired celebration picnic.

All of these little details really made this one special picnic. At this little party for two, Dionne and Damien shared a wedding cake and red velvet cupcakes from Copenhagen Bakery, some champagne, and lots of kisses.

Don’t forget that Dionne handled all of the flower arrangements herself! The full blooms were paired with flower buds and pinecones to create different textures throughout the picnic spread.

One of our favorite spots inside the Presidio is in front of this “nest” sign, a public art project created by San Francisco branding and design agency, PhilippeBecker. These vintage wedding photos of the newlywed picnic went perfectly with this nesting theme.

Dionne carried a vintage locket with a picture of her father in it throughout the day – another great sentimental detail that made their wedding day so special and personal.

The light filtering through the trees was ideal for our vintage wedding photos at this whimsical woodsy wedding picnic. We can’t thank Dionne and Damien enough for inviting Tinywater to share in their very intimate and special wedding day!

Dionne and Damien’s San Francisco City Hall wedding was one of Tinywater‘s absolute favorites of 2011. With no guests in tow, we made our way down to San Francisco’s historic City Hall building on 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place to capture these two exchanging their vows and rings. We love the ornate scrolls and styling of Civic Center building which is an example of neoclassical Beaux-Arts architecture, a monument created for the City Beautiful movement of the late 1880′s.

These two looked perfect as we waited for their San Francisco City Hall wedding ceremony to begin.

As Dionne and Damien exchanged their vows, rings, and first kiss, we snapped tons of pictures to make sure to capture each moment for them to later share with their family and friends. The couple was planning on having a big party in their hometown of Atlanta a little after their San Francisco City Hall wedding.

After the ceremony the fun began. We loved being able to wander the halls of the historic building to capture unique bride and groom portraits. The natural light coming through the windows was just right.

The grand staircase at the front of the building was perfect for staging Dionne and Damien’s first married couple portraits after their San Francisco City Hall wedding ceremony. We love that other business is carrying on as usual around them with them totally unaware of anyone else due to their newly marital bliss!

More gorgeous couple portraits between these two. Can you believe Damien chased Dionne for almost a year before she agreed to go out with him? Now 8 years later but still madly in love, they finally tied the knot. One of our favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is hearing each couple’s unique love stories!

These enormous windows provided the great light and were too pretty to pass up portrait opportunities with them.

It’s official! As we headed outside of Dionne and Damien’s San Francisco City Hall wedding, we were all smiles.

We can’t WAIT to show you what we  have coming up next. Dionne and Damien opted for a little bride and groom picnic celebration, and we were invited!

Dionne + Damien: San Francisco Elopement

January 30th, 2012

When Dionne and Damien decided to get married, plans changed so many times due to family sprawled around the country that they finally decided to bring Tinywater along as their San Francisco wedding photographer as they eloped at City Hall! San Francisco’s City Hall is located at 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, and it is one of our favorite historic buildings in the city. With Dionne being an interior designer and Damien a musician, this couple definitely has a gorgeous and unique sense of style, making this entire day seem like a staged inspiration shoot!

A few of the couple’s favorite things – Dionne’s locket with a vintage photo of her father inside, an old record, the groom’s boutonniere, and the bride’s funky and bold statement necklaces.

How pretty is Dionne’s bouquet? We would have never guessed that she designed all of the floral arrangements herself! We’ll be able to show you even more of Dionne’s incredibly styling skills as we made our way to the City Hall ceremony to the celebratory picnic as their San Francisco wedding photographer!

You can already tell how much fun we were having as Dionne and Damien’s San Francisco wedding photographer. We were jumping out all of the nerves before the bride and groom first glance!

Damien was super suave in his vintage three piece pinstripe suit. We love how he went without a tie and opted for the ruffled shirt for a bohemian vintage twist. Tinywater is obsessed with style, so you can imagine how much we were swooning over these two every step of the way as their San Francisco wedding photographer!

A few moments with the groom and his mother before we all headed downstairs for the couple’s first glance!

As a San Francisco wedding photographer, we get to share in so many special moments. One of our favorites is definitely the bride and groom’s first glance! It’s so exciting to feel the anxiousness in the room as they walk closer toward each other for the first look of their big wedding day.

Almost there! City Hall weddings can be just as beautiful and special as ones with 100 or more guests and we can’t wait to show you how wonderful Dionne and Damien’s turned out!

Kristina - CT Wedding DJ Prices - Great photos! I so love it! The bride is so pretty in her stunning and elegant wedding dress. Congrats to the happy couple.
